A DIFFERENT WAY TO EXPERIENCE PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND & NOVA SCOTIA
This proposed journey has been designed for travelers who want more than simply seeing Atlantic Canada through the window of a tour bus.
Over nine days, our small group will begin in Charlottetown, discover the real landscapes that inspired Lucy Maud Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables, experience Prince Edward Island’s red-cliff coastline and fishing communities, cross the Northumberland Strait by ferry, explore Halifax and Nova Scotia’s South Shore, travel through the Annapolis Valley, and venture through Digby Neck to Brier Island for a Bay of Fundy whale-watching experience.
Along the way, we propose to walk through the places that inspired Avonlea, see Anne & Gilbert: The Musical, enjoy a traditional PEI lobster supper, explore Peggy’s Cove and Lunenburg, taste the Annapolis Valley, discover Digby and spend a day among the dramatic coastal landscapes and marine life of the Bay of Fundy.
But we also believe great journeys need something many traditional tours leave out:
Time that belongs to you.
That’s why PEI & Nova Scotia 2027 combines carefully selected included experiences with our Explore Your Way concept, giving you freedom to pursue the things that interest you without requiring you to research an unfamiliar destination from scratch.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THIS PROPOSED ITINERARY
This itinerary represents the experiences, accommodations, transportation and activities Elsewhere Tours & Travel proposes to include in Prince Edward Island & Nova Scotia 2027.
Because final June 2027 reservations have not yet been secured, all flights, hotels, tours, activities, meals, admissions, transportation arrangements and other experiences described in this proposal are subject to availability at the time sufficient traveler commitments and required payments are received and reservations can be confirmed.
Many proposed experiences are seasonal or limited-capacity. Availability cannot be guaranteed until reservations have been confirmed by the individual suppliers.
If a listed experience, hotel, transportation service or other component becomes unavailable before it can be reserved, Elsewhere Tours & Travel may substitute a comparable experience, property or service when reasonably available. Any material changes will be communicated to confirmed travelers.
Early commitment will be especially important for this journey. Delayed commitment may result in limited availability, supplier price changes or the need to substitute an experience described in this proposal.
WHAT IS AN ELSEWHERE SIGNATURE EXPERIENCE?
Elsewhere Signature Experiences are the moments we intentionally build into a journey because they connect travelers to the destination in a way that simply seeing it cannot.
They may introduce you to a local tradition, tell the story of a place, put you on the water, bring you into a performance or create the kind of shared memory that becomes one of the things you talk about long after the trip is over.
They are not optional add-ons. When an experience is identified as an Elsewhere Signature Experience, it is part of the journey and included in the tour price.
For Prince Edward Island & Nova Scotia 2027, our proposed Elsewhere Signature Experiences are:
★ ANNE & GILBERT: THE MUSICAL
After spending the day in the landscapes and places connected to Lucy Maud Montgomery and Anne of Green Gables, we propose to experience Anne’s story on stage in Charlottetown. The 2027 performance calendar has not yet been released, so final inclusion is subject to schedule and ticket availability.
★ BRIER ISLAND & BAY OF FUNDY WHALE WATCHING
Travel through Digby Neck and across the local ferries to Brier Island for a narrated whale-watching excursion in the Bay of Fundy. Wildlife sightings and sailing are naturally dependent on weather, sea conditions and wildlife activity.
WHAT DOES "EXPLORE YOUR WAY" MEAN?
Planned freedom, not unplanned time.
Explore Your Way is an intentional part of an Elsewhere journey.
Traditional tours often require travelers to choose between two extremes: planning an entire trip independently or joining a group tour where nearly every hour is scheduled.
Explore Your Way gives you something in between.
Elsewhere takes care of the major logistics and provides the research and tools you need. Then, during designated portions of the itinerary, you decide how you want to experience the destination.
Before departure, travelers will receive detailed Elsewhere Explore Your Way Planning Guides for designated destinations.
Depending upon the destination, your Planning Guide may include:
• Major sights and attractions
• History and cultural information
• Restaurant, café and bakery suggestions
• Local foods and drinks worth trying
• Shopping and regional products
• Museums and historic sites
• Transportation information
• Walking distances and approximate times
• Optional experiences
• Ticket and reservation information
• One-hour, two-hour, half-day and evening itinerary ideas
• Practical information such as pharmacies and ATMs
Want to visit a museum? You can.
Want to shop and find a café? That’s fine too.
Want to sit beside the waterfront and do absolutely nothing for a while?
That counts.
Explore Your Way means the time belongs to you, while the research has already been done to help you make the most of it.
Unless specifically identified as included, optional admissions, meals, independent transportation, shopping and activities chosen during Explore Your Way time are at the traveler’s expense.

We’ll continue into Montgomery’s PEI story through sites such as the Anne of Green Gables Museum at Silver Bush, the L.M. Montgomery Birthplace and the Site of L.M. This is not a movie set created after the fact. We’ll be exploring the farms, woods and countryside that helped Montgomery imagine Avonlea.

Later, enjoy Explore Your Way • Charlottetown. Walk the waterfront. Shop. Find a café. Visit something that caught your attention. Or simply enjoy the city at your own pace.
INCLUDED EVENING EXPERIENCE
TRADITIONAL PEI LOBSTER SUPPER
Tonight we propose a traditional dinner at New Glasgow Lobster Suppers. The current lobster supper includes appetizers, salads, a one-pound Island lobster dinner, desserts and nonalcoholic beverages, with non-lobster entrée options available.

After arriving in Nova Scotia, we’ll continue to Halifax and check into our hotel.

LUNENBURG
Then we continue to colorful Lunenburg, whose Old Town is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Our proposed included Lunenburg experience may combine a guided historic walk, harbour experience and Fisheries Museum admission, with additional independent time to shop, explore the waterfront and choose lunch or local treats. We’ll continue west to Digby, our home for the next two nights.
EXPLORE YOUR WAY • DIGBY
Tonight, the time belongs to you. Explore Digby’s waterfront, browse local shops, find a café or restaurant, walk along the harbour, and consider trying the scallops for which Digby is famous. Our centerpiece is a narrated Bay of Fundy whale-watching excursion aboard the larger Mega Nova vessel. Potential sightings may include humpback, fin and minke whales, porpoises, dolphins and other marine life.
Because this is a wildlife and marine experience, sightings, exact cruise duration and operation depend upon weather, sea conditions and wildlife activity.

A NOTE ABOUT AVAILABILITY
Prince Edward Island & Nova Scotia 2027 is currently a proposed itinerary.
The experiences described here have been researched and selected to create the journey we would like to offer. However, the trip has not yet been contracted, and no experience should be considered confirmed until Elsewhere Tours & Travel receives sufficient traveler commitments and payments and receives confirmation from the individual suppliers.
Seasonal and limited-capacity experiences, including Anne & Gilbert, whale watching, hotel accommodations, ferry schedules, admissions and small-group activities, may sell out or change.
Final pricing may also be affected by airfare, hotel, transportation, currency and supplier pricing available at the time reservations are made.
If a proposed component is no longer available, Elsewhere Tours & Travel will make reasonable efforts to secure a comparable alternative and will communicate material itinerary changes to confirmed travelers.
